Jasmine Tea
Jasmine tea is tea with added Jasmine flowers. It originates
from the time of the Song Dynasty (960–1279). Normally Jasmine
tea is based on green tea. This is a great tea for those who
prefer scented tea. In fact, jasmine tea is known to be one of
the oldest scented tea around. Jasmine Tea is a famous tea made
from Green or Pouchong (Chinese Green) tea leaves that are
scented with jasmine flowers. The flowers are layered over the
tea leaves during the scenting process. The quality of Jasmine
tea is determined by the quality of green tea used as its base
and the effectiveness of the scenting.
Health benefits
Drinking Jasmine Tea is known to prevent some forms of
cancer, as well addressing the problem of aging. It also
connects with cholesterol and blocks it, decreases level of
cholesterol in blood, as well as prevents bad cholesterol,
caused by oxidation. The impact of jasmine tea on circulatory
system is even more beneficial, since it is believed to prevent
brain strokes, heart attacks, thrombosis and arterial
sclerosis. It is also good for people with diabetes, as it aids
in the prevention and reducing of high blood pressure.
In addition, jasmine tea fights viruses and bacteria,
preventing cavities and food poisoning and many other problems.
One of the jasmine tea health benefits is to improve intestine
conditions by blocking development and growth of bad bacteria
and strengthening good bacteria. Gargling with jasmine green
tea is also believed to be one of the most effective ways to

Recipes
Sparkling Jasmine Ice Tea
A sparkling iced tea, flavoured with jasmine
and brown sugar syrup. A change from the ordinary, with a sweet
and floral flavour.
Ingredients:
- 4 cups water, boiling
- 3 tbs loose jasmine tea
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1 1/4 cups sparkling water
Preparation:
Dissolve sugar in 3/4 cup of water, and boil gently until a
syrup has formed. Set aside and let cool. Steep the jasmine tea
in the remaining 3 cups of hot water for around 6 minutes.
Strain out tea, and let cool slightly. In a pitcher, combine
syrup and tea. Stir or whisk until fully blended. Add sparkling
water and cool thoroughly. Serve over ice. Can be served with
cinnamon sticks, lemon slices or mint sprigs.

- 1/8 ounce(s) of Jasmine Tea
- 1/8 ounce(s) of sugar
Preparation:
1. boil a pot of hot water,
2. take some Jasmine Tea,
3. pour the hot water into the cup with Jasmine Tea
4. filter and enjoy it.
